S2 also reviewed key dates for the start of the school year: optional work day Aug. 14; required teacher workdays Aug. 17–18 and Aug. 20–21; virtual convocation and professional development on Aug. 19 at 9 a.m.; and the first day of students on Aug. 24. "August 19, we will have convocation at 9AM. That will be virtual," S2 said while summarizing the calendar.
