Sedgwick County streamlines tag-office walk-ins during busiest days to speed service

Sedgwick County officials said they will limit walk-in work at tag offices during the busiest days of each month to reduce wait times and improve customer service.
Nicole Gibbs of Strategic Communications told the county commissioners the offices will focus on fast services — tag renewals, lien releases and other quick transactions — from the 27th through the 2nd of each month and will require appointments for title work that takes longer. "It's easy to do on our website or through the QLess app," Gibbs said. The change follows analysis showing heavy transaction volumes on those days.
County Treasurer Brandy Bailey said staff averaged about 1,750 transactions per day across tag offices during the busy period over the last three months and presented the operational rationale for the scheduling change. "This is just helping to keep those lines moving and getting people in and out those busiest days," Bailey said.
The commission did not take formal action other than receiving the announcement; staff encouraged residents to use the county website for scheduling and to check the updated service list for which transactions will be handled on a walk-in basis.
