Board approves multiple personnel appointments, reassignments and resignations

The Ichabod Crane Board of Education approved multiple personnel actions during its Aug. 20 special meeting. Actions recorded in the consent agenda included additions to the non-teaching substitute list (for example, Tika Veakins as Substitute Cleaner effective Aug. 12, 2024), extracurricular and mentor appointments, and the probationary appointment of Alba Velazquez to Clerk‑Typist (Step 1), effective Aug. 19, 2024.
The board also accepted the resignation of bus driver Sarah O’Neil (effective Aug. 19, 2024) and approved internal reassignment and appointments in food service (Mary Beth Strobel to Food Service Helper, effective Aug. 28, 2024; Heather Dorval and Dawn Kerber to Food Service Helper positions). The board appointed Kim Funk as a long-term substitute to fill a Math Teacher vacancy effective Aug. 28, 2024; that appointment is intended to continue, provided satisfactory service, no later than June 27, 2025. All personnel items listed in the consent agenda were carried by a recorded vote of 7-0.
