Board consents to move 240 Hennett Road into Chatham Central School District

By unanimous consent as part of the Sept. 10 consent agenda, the Ichabod Crane board agreed to allow the Questar III BOCES district superintendent to alter a boundary so 240 Hennett Road will be located entirely within Chatham Central School District; the board noted one school-aged child currently living on the property.
The Ichabod Crane Central School District Board of Education on Sept. 10 adopted a resolution consenting to a boundary alteration request for the parcel at 240 Hennett Road (Tax Map No. 54.-1-48.122). Under Education Law §1507(1), the board provided written consent so the Questar III BOCES district superintendent may issue an order to change the district boundary and place the property entirely within the Chatham Central School District.
Board minutes state the owners requested the change and that the assessment roll currently lists the property within Ichabod Crane for tax purposes. The board noted there is one school-aged child residing on the property who currently attends Chatham on a non-resident tuition basis, and determined, taking into consideration educational interests, student effect and tax revenues, that the proposed boundary alteration was appropriate. The resolution directs a copy of the board's consent be provided to the Questar III BOCES district superintendent. The item was included and approved within the consent agenda (carried 7-0).
