Weber County approves multi‑year interactive exhibits for the county fair

The Weber County Board of Commissioners voted to approve multi-year contracts to secure interactive exhibits for upcoming county fairs, a move county staff said will preserve popular family- and STEM-focused programming.
Ashton Wilson told the board the Dino Encounters exhibit was a top visitor compliment in last year’s exit survey and that securing multi-year agreements will lock in reduced prices. "We had 107 respondents and I would say nearly 0.5 if not 0.5 mentioned Dino Encounters by name specifically," Wilson said, describing visitor feedback and the decision to contract exhibits for 2027–2030.
Counsel advised that the board could approve the similar contracts in a single motion provided the minutes clearly listed each separate contract. A commissioner moved to approve items G2–G5 — Dino Encounters (through 2030), Engineering Encounters (2029), Mythical Encounters (2028) and Mars Encounters (2027) — and the motion carried.
County staff said the multi-year approach will provide continuity for the fair while allowing staff to budget and market the attractions several years in advance.
