Commission approves two agricultural rezones to bring parcels into compliance

The Washington County Commission approved two rezoning ordinances that reclassify specific parcels to a five‑acre agricultural zone (A5) to bring them into compliance with lot-size and building-permit requirements.
Planning staff member Scott (speaker 15) explained the first request covered property near 750 North Cottom Ranch Road and that the applicant sought the A5 zone to finish a home and obtain the appropriate building permit. The planning commission held a public hearing in which no one spoke for or against the change and unanimously recommended approval. The second rezoning, near 1200 West, 500 South near Ivans, involved two parcels that had been combined to meet lot-size needs; planning again reported no public opposition and a unanimous recommendation, and the board approved the ordinance.
Commissioners moved and adopted both ordinances following staff presentations. Each item record shows planning review, required public hearings, and unanimous planning-commission recommendations in support of rezoning to allow the proposed residential construction.
