County approves facility-use sponsorship for Dixie Junior Livestock Show after student national championship

A group of students and leaders from Dixie High School described winning the national Agricultural Issues Forum competition on the topic of wild-horse management. A student participant reported the team "won national, the national title for that," and presenters told commissioners they hope to take their work to Washington, D.C., to press for policy attention. County staff explained the agreement includes a 9‑month clause allowing termination or renegotiation if Legacy Park planning or operations change. Commissioners moved and adopted the resolution after staff said the planning commission and stakeholders supported the sponsorship.
Commissioners praised the youth participants for leadership and work ethic, and the county emphasized the sponsorship was intended to support youth agricultural education and community events. The agreement will be reviewed at renewal and is designed to give the show scheduling certainty for multi-year planning.
