Students present PR/HYLI benefits; student board member and counseling updates reported

Two Ichabod Crane students, Franklin Navarro-Castillo and Maria Guadalupe Tapia-Martinez, presented to the board about the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Youth Leadership Institute (PR/HYLI) and described the benefits of participation for members.
Student Board Member Amara Gabriel reported on K—9 student activities and events. The superintendent highlighted upcoming opportunities including the Community Canvas Student Exhibition on Dec. 7 and workshops titled "The Anxious Generation - Part III and IV" scheduled for Jan. 14 at 7:00 p.m.
The counseling department presentation and student reports were informational and recorded as part of the regular reports section of the meeting; no board action was taken during these presentations.
