Ichabod Crane board approves consent agenda with personnel moves and policy adoptions

The Ichabod Crane Central School District Board of Education approved a comprehensive consent agenda at its Dec. 3 meeting, voting to accept personnel changes, financial reports and policy updates.
Board President Matthew Nelson moved to approve the consent agenda; the motion carried 8-0. Items approved included an amended effective resignation date for Special Education Teacher Heather Scarano, acceptance of Teaching Assistant Kristine Sigler's resignation effective Dec. 4, 2024, acceptance of the October 2024 Treasurer's Report and CPSE/CSE recommendations for the 2024—2025 school year.
The board adopted three policies on second reading under the consent agenda: Policy 5275 (Athletic Code of Conduct, revised), Policy 5100 (Attendance, revised) and Policy 5205 (Eligibility for Co-Curricular and Extracurricular Activities, revised). The board also approved additions to the district's substitute lists and multiple coaching appointments, including converting several volunteer assistant coaches to paid positions.
The motion implementing the consent agenda also authorized the Board President or Superintendent to execute several documents listed in the supplemental file, including a memorandum of agreement relating to retirement and a School Resource Deputy agreement with associated body-worn camera documentation.
