The select board voted Aug. 10 to approve the transfer of an all‑alcohol on‑premises hotel license to Z Golf Food and Beverage Services LLC, doing business as Wedgewood Weddings, for property at 160 Pawtucket Boulevard. The board also approved a common victualer license and weekday and Sunday entertainment permissions, including live music.
Attorney Tyler Hensler, representing the applicant, said the company is a national operator and that the property will host primarily family‑oriented events. "Public need for a license at this location is very strong," Hensler said, describing the venue as a "low impact, self contained property" focused on weddings and receptions. Manager of record Rachel Carruthers told the board the applicants plan to begin events no earlier than April 1 and that most entertainment will be indoors; Carruthers also said staff training and required permits are in place.
Board members asked about hours and whether entertainment would be outdoors. The applicant replied that ceremonies may be outdoors but receptions and performances will be mainly indoors and that they plan to host events only until 11 p.m. After opening and closing the public hearing and asking for public comment (none was offered), the select board moved and approved the license transfer and related licenses; the motion carried unanimously.
