City Manager Miss Pearson provided a series of staff updates during the meeting, saying auditors and finance staff "have cleaned it up so that this year, we will be starting as soon as possible" on street work and that staff is trying to find prior administration allocations for Anse Park so some improvements can begin. She said city staff hope to schedule initial work before Oct. 1 if possible and otherwise in October.
Pearson also announced Best Day Human Resources Mentorship Services will bring a retired police chief to mentor the city's police and fire leadership, and that one previously vacant administrative position is being reallocated to serve as a development services liaison to handle permits, planning and economic development tasks. The manager described these steps as low‑cost moves intended to improve service delivery and clearer points of contact for citizens and business stakeholders.
