Resident seeks sewer credit after burst water line; Council requires plumber invoice

Resident Lyndsey Greenwood told the Council that her underground water line burst during January’s snowstorm and that a family friend who is a licensed plumber made the repair; she asked the Council to grant a sewer credit for the portion of the bill attributable to the leak. Administrator Erin Braband said the Town’s policy requires an invoice from a licensed plumber showing the repair for office staff to approve a sewer credit, and Greenwood did not have that invoice available.
Commissioner Rose Potter informed Greenwood she would need to provide documentation from the plumber and an invoice before the Council could consider a credit. The Council tabled the matter to the April meeting to give Greenwood time to submit the required documentation. Separately, Water Superintendent Shawn Lane presented a quote to repair an eroding ditch and driveway at the treatment plant; the Council requested an additional quote and deferred that decision to the April meeting as well.
