Kingston seeks representation in West Shoreline passenger rail feasibility study

Alderman Sarah Pasti offered the amendment to add language that would "further request that the city of Kingston and other affected West Of Hudson communities be represented in the studies development and stakeholder engagement process," and the council voted to amend and then pass the resolution without further discussion.
Council members framed the resolution as a request to New York State and relevant regional agencies to fund and initiate the study, while the amendment ensured Kingston's participation in outreach if the study proceeds. The resolution was adopted 8 to 0.
Members said the change would not alter the title but clarifies that the city expects to be included as a stakeholder in development of the study and its community engagement phases.
