Kirkland accepts senior center and police resignations, appoints new senior director and reappoints assessment board member

At the Sept. 9 meeting the Town Board accepted the resignation of James Nolan as Director of the Senior Center and of Officer Joseph McCormick (effective Sept. 8, 2024). The Board reappointed Terry Hoffman to the Board of Assessment Review for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2029. Each of these personnel actions was adopted by roll call vote with Councilwoman Donna E. Yando recorded as absent.
In discussion following Nolan’s resignation, long‑term member Sharlene Machold said she would take the Senior Center Director position; the board voted to appoint her. The motions for appointment and reappointment were moved and seconded as recorded in the minutes and recorded by roll call.
