Washington County approves treasurer statements and routine warrants; one commissioner abstains

Washington County commissioners approved multiple financial items on Aug. 3, including Operations in Funds/Statement of Treasurer’s Cash for May 2026 ($16,602,439.33) and July 2026 ($16,764,963.14) and a Treasurer/Auditor joint quarterly report covering April 1–June 30, 2026. Commissioner Jim Harberd moved the approvals and motions were seconded and carried; Commissioner Gordon Wilkerson recorded abstentions on the listed treasurer items.
The Board also approved demand warrants including $470.76 to Wex for fuel and $123.39 to U.S. Bank Equipment Finance for a copier lease, an affidavit of lost warrant payable to Michael Fifer, and certificates of residency for two students. These approvals were presented and carried by motion during the same session.
Clerk Donna White performed roll call at the start of the meeting and commissioners confirmed their presence before taking votes on the financial items. The motions were recorded as carried in the official minutes and will be reflected in the county’s financial records.
