The Lake George Park Commission voted to retain Bartlett, Pontiff, Stewart and Rose of Glens Falls as its legal services provider for the five-year period beginning Jan. 1, 2025 and ending Dec. 31, 2029, following a competitive request-for-proposals process and committee review. A resolution describing the procurement and the ad hoc committee recommendation was read into the record and moved, seconded and carried by the commission.
One commissioner praised the committee's work and said the decision was straightforward. “I read the whole report from the committee, and I was very impressed with how thorough it was, and how easy this decision should be for every commissioner,” the commissioner said during discussion. Commissioners noted the current contract expires Oct. 31 and approved a two-month amendment to bridge to the new contract start date.
The transcript records four proposals were received, and the ad hoc committee recommended Bartlett, Pontiff, Stewart and Rose based on the evaluation method specified in the RFP and approved by the New York State Comptroller's Office. The commission carried the motion with no nays reported at the meeting; commissioners congratulated the selected firm.
