Board hears water-improvement update as DPW says about 100 new meters installed

Carley Thomas of Barton & Loguidice provided the board with a Water Improvement Project update and said the consultant meeting scheduled for Dec. 17, 2025, is being rescheduled. DPW Supervisor Jared Kline reported, "There have been approximately 100 of the new meters installed by the DPW crew."
Resident Richard Noble asked whether there is a formal reporting process for failures of the new meters; Mayor Peter Lennon advised that "there is not a structured process" and noted the board expects small increases in tracked usage because the new meters are more accurate. Trustees Kelly Banks and Maryellen Canuel agreed to add a section about the Chobani Community Center to the village website at Noble's request.
The board listed follow-up administrative items tied to the water program, including obtaining recommendations for charges for a fire suppression annual fee and completing a Lead Service Line Inventory. Staff also reported routine winter water shutoffs have been completed at requested accounts and that DPW continues other maintenance work (plow cutting-edge replacement, water tank inspection scheduling). The board did not take final action on fees or inventory at the meeting; those items remain on the follow-up list.
