Homeowner urges outreach on UV drinking-water system maintenance; Lake Protectors Summit announced

Homeowner David Hartman told the commission that lake-water UV treatment systems used by shoreline residents are often not properly maintained and that the commission could help with outreach and guidance. "Since I've started talking about this about 4 months ago at these meetings, not a single time found somebody that was using a UV system that was properly maintained on the lake," Hartman said, and asked for assistance reaching homeowners who draw drinking water from the lake.
Separately, a participant thanked the commission on Earth Day and announced the Lake Protectors Summit on May 15 at the Lake George Village Marriott; the announcement said Dr. Kevin Rose of the Jefferson Project will speak. The commission acknowledged both items and the public-comment period closed.
