Local testing lab offers expanded drug‑court services, Narcan training amid uptick in fentanyl

Franchesca Givney, founder and co-owner of Buffalo Clinical Lab and Drug Testing Center, addressed the council to announce expanded services for the community and drug treatment court. Givney said the lab has seen an "uptick with certain substances" and specifically cited concerns about fentanyl over the last six months; she said the lab works with local judges and can provide on-site testing, pamphlets, and training.
"We are currently working with judge Syskowski and judge Barbara Lee Johnson in Buffalo Court," Givney said, and added that the lab "is fully stocked with Narcan" and can provide Narcan training and CPR training at health fairs, school events, and other community gatherings. The council thanked Givney and offered to help publicize upcoming events on the city's website and social media.
