Board approves Domino's and Zaxby's items as 'plate partners' for secondary school menus

Dr. White explained the items were taste-tested by students in spring and can meet National School Lunch Program requirements. "Domino's and Zaxby's were taste tested in the spring with students," Dr. White said, recommending the board approve sourcing those products as part of the nutrition program. The action was approved by recorded vote 4-0.
Operations staff said the item rollout will begin at the secondary level to evaluate scalability and student feedback before any broader expansion. Nutrition staff reported FY26 totals of 720,800 meals served (157,414 breakfasts; 563,386 lunches) and an average daily participation of roughly 4,026 meals.
