The Brownfield ISD Board of Trustees voted to approve a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) of $106,370 to purchase classroom-facing display boards funded through a technology lending grant. The president opened the agenda item and staff explained the district received NOVA approval for the grant and is now able to spend the funds.
"that we approve the GMP of $106,370 for the technology purchase scheduled to be completed," said a committee member (speaker 6) as he proposed the motion. The president (speaker 1) recorded that the motion was moved by Kathy Gonzales and seconded by Julian Hernandez; the president announced the ayes had it and the motion passed. Staff said the units are intended for Oak Grove Middle School, Colonial Heights and BEC and are meant to refresh several aging mounted/rolling boards rather than purchase student devices.
District staff said the boards are in stock and expected to arrive in "a couple weeks," and that the technology team will perform after-hours installation once units are drop-shipped to the district. No further policy changes or additional spending on this item were approved at the meeting.
