Assistant store manager urges Rangely to investigate inspector's conduct toward Tractor Supply staff

"The way she treated me was plum out, just disrespectful," Lancaster said, describing interactions that included a staff member returning with a document and the inspector reportedly saying the document "had to do with the scale" but not reading it as proof of authorization to sell propane. He said corporate staff later phoned and were told the town might fine the store, which he called "ridiculous." Lancaster asked the council to address the employee's attitude and offered to provide a written account to the town manager for follow-up.
Council members acknowledged two sides to the encounter and asked Lancaster to submit his complaint in writing. The council said it would forward the written documentation to the town manager for investigation and follow-up, and urged staff to ensure customer service standards are met.
The council did not take immediate disciplinary action during the meeting; members instead directed the town manager to follow-up after receiving a written complaint.
