Town manager outlines upcoming water and sewer rate study

The town manager (S5) told council staff will commission an independent rate study for water and sewer to identify inputs, capital projects and a long-term rate structure. “It’s an analysis by an independent 3rd party analyst,” S5 said, adding that the consultant will provide outputs and recommendations the council can review.
S5 said the consultant has worked with many Colorado communities and has a contract with the Colorado Rural Water Association; he expects to return with data and to discuss results at a work meeting or future regular meeting. Council members noted the study could help obtain grants and improve fiscal health for the town’s utilities.
