The Board discussed the operational implications of moving to a non‑ALS (basic life support) posture while keeping county ALS support available for cases that escalate; trustees were told ALS currently comprises roughly 20% of calls, and that coordinating ALS backup with county providers will be part of the staffing plan as the village evaluates ongoing costs and availability.
Trustees asked EMS leadership to review training and shift commitments, confirm which ALS‑capable staff will continue participating, and bring a staffing plan to a future meeting so the Board can consider the budget and operational impacts of any change in ALS coverage.
