Councilmember Kathy O’Connell reviewed a reorganized Youth Recreation program and presented a revised job description for the Youth Recreation Director. The proposed changes convert the position from a salaried role to an hourly noncompetitive civil service appointment paid at $25 per hour, with duties including eight activities a year plus ski and boarding programs and support for dance, pottery, hockey and basketball.
O’Connell said the position will be expected to provide an annual report to the town for record-keeping, and the advertisement is planned to run in the local paper with an anticipated start date of Jan. 1, 2026. Resolution #119 to approve the job description was offered by Neil McGovern, seconded by Meg Parascandola and adopted unanimously.
