Budget committee reports progress; health-insurance quotes still pending

Budget Officer Nancy Seifts told the board the budget committee has met with most department heads to review 2026 spending requests and will meet with the remaining departments this week. She credited the Hamilton County Treasurer's office for help with the budgeting program and said final figures are still being collected for several items.
Town Clerk Stephanie Smith and committee representatives reported that health-insurance coverage figures have been received from Marshall & Sterling, Humana scripts and Hartford; figures from MVP were not yet in and will be turned over to Seifts for inclusion in the budget. Several committees (cemetery, website, building, youth recreation, highway) also provided status updates related to budget planning.
