Councilmember Meg O’Parascandola (transcript lists Meg Parascandola) informed the board that the town received a letter from NYS Parks and Recreation and Historic Preservation dated Aug. 14, 2025, "regretfully informing the town that it has not been selected to receive funding" for the Elm Lake Road Project.
Parascandola told the board the grant program had 203 eligible applications requesting in aggregate more than $131,000,000 while only $10,000,000 was available for distribution this year, noting that nonselection "does not preclude the town for applying for future grants." Councilmember Kathy O’Connell said the town can try again next year. No board action was taken beyond acknowledging the denial and noting the option to reapply.
