Highway superintendent reports progress on courts, culverts; board approves sale of old recycling truck

Randy LaVarnway, the town highway superintendent, told the board that the boat wash station and fence were picked up, winterized and stored in under two hours, and he thanked the employees who packed and stored the equipment. He said tennis-court work is advancing with gravel being hauled by Adirondack Gravel and that grading remains to be completed before gravel placement. In Perkins Clearing, LaVarnway reported road widening and installation of donated culverts provided by Lyme Timber.
LaVarnway said the town's FEMA award status has moved to "award pending" after a roughly two-year review; he also reported that Stage 2 of the snowmobile grant has been submitted and that the highway department will perform shared-services paving for other towns next week. The board approved selling its old recycling truck via Auctions International for $1,075.00 under Resolution #123 (motion offered by Meg Parascandola, seconded by Don Braunius).
