Lake Pleasant clinic to replace waiting-room furniture; board hears health updates and outreach plans

Supervisor Betsy Bain told the board the Lake Pleasant clinic needs new waiting-room furniture and that she consulted a sales representative from Ruby and Quiri on medical-grade vinyl chairs, including hip and bariatric models. Bain said clinic staff will choose colors and that the estimated cost is up to $15,000 to be paid from donated funds rather than tax dollars. A mis-sized sliding glass window was returned and will be reordered.
During roundtable updates, board members reported that the clinic had recent cases of COVID-19 and influenza and expressed concern about measles entering the area. Bain and Public Health collaborator Maria McKay reported work on a community vulnerable list that will be updated quarterly. The board also noted that clinic door locks will be changed soon as a security measure.
