The Jerseyville City Council voted to approve a certificate of authority enabling the mayor, city clerk, and the director of public works to enter into contracts and joint participation agreements with the State of Illinois and its agencies. Commissioner John Miles moved the certificate; Commissioner Anthony Steckel seconded, and the council approved it unanimously.
Public Works Director Manns told the council the certificate has previously been used to procure road salt through the city's purchasing process: "this has been used to purchase road salt through CMS which is typically submitted in April and pricing in August." The approval formalizes authority for city officials to execute state-related contracts and related documents.
