Several Cleverdale residents used the public-comment period to press the Lake George Park Commission to rescind prior approval for a boat lift at 260 Lauderdale Road and to deny a requested canopy.
Linda Bien (speaker 4) identified herself and described a family history on the peninsula; she said neighbors were not properly notified in writing and that the lift and canopy constituted new construction within the 20-foot setback and diminished her property’s setback from 15 to 4 feet. Bien said she circulated a petition with more than 75 signatures and asked the commission to hold the Rosen applicants to the same standards as other property owners. "We strongly believe that this is justified for a number of reasons," she said, and provided the petition to staff.
Other neighbors recounted following a public and rigorous review process when they remodeled and urged commissioners to apply similar rigor here; several speakers asked the commission to review whether correct notice and variance procedures were followed. The commission acknowledged the complaints and said staff would review the record and follow up.
