New facility design advances as SWPPP items cleared and WERC completes site work

Arcadis consultant Justin Wetzel told the board April 30 that the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) review with the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation has been closed after completion of responses to an initial list of 38 items. Wetzel said the ADEC requirements have been satisfied and formal documentation is expected from the state.
Wetzel reported that site work and the WERC building are complete, including added electrical infrastructure and an uninterruptible power supply; remaining design work for the long-term care facility and hospital has advanced at a concept level. An application has been submitted to bring Bettisworth North on board for full design development and HRSA grant reconciliation identified available funds in the design category to support continued work.
The update indicates tangible progress on the replacement campus but notes the overall project remains in a holding pattern pending next steps and formal documentation from state agencies.
