The Battle Ground School District Board voted to adopt revisions to Policy 2161, its special-education policy and procedures, to align with recent legislative changes and other district policies. Executive Director Connor McCroskey told the board the revisions "ensure that parents receive a copy of a draft evaluation prior to the meeting happening so that they have an opportunity to review the information prior to the team meeting and discussing the evaluation."
McCroskey described the edits as largely consolidations and alignments that remove redundant elements and point to a central restraint-and-isolation policy so 2161 will not need parallel updates. After discussion the board approved the resolution to adopt Policy 2161 as presented by voice vote (4-0).
