Council considered a petition to release a 26.2161-acre tract from the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction and then voted to table the petition after staff and the city attorney reported discrepancies in the legal 'meets and bounds' description.
"We still have a discrepancy with the meets and bounds description, and so we need to... work with Mr. Patel to clean that up," City Attorney David Olsen told the council, recommending that staff obtain a corrected legal description before the council takes action. Council voted to table the petition pending cleanup of the legal exhibits.
The matter will return to the council once the petitioner and staff have provided a valid legal description that matches the required exhibits.
