Rene Gibson and Joyce Ferrentino reported regular participation at Columbia County Office for the Aging (OFA) meetings and said OFA asks each town to provide two representatives who report back to their town committees. Mary Lou Kersten said she will try to attend the July 16 OFA meeting at 1:00 p.m. at the Fire Training Center, 50 Grandinetti Drive, Ghent.
On volunteer programming, the committee discussed continuing the Taconic Hills School 'Stories Across Generations' reading program but said the school administrator must confirm scheduling for a future semester. The minutes reiterate publication rules: Safe At Home announcements must be delivered before the 20th of the month for inclusion in the Hillsdale Town Newsletter; newsletter copy and press deadlines noted include a July 20 deadline for August coffee hour copy (to Emily Stalker, deputyclerk@hillsdaleny.com) and a July 21 deadline to send a Bill Kramer press release to the Columbia Paper news desk (news@columbiapaper.com). Joyce Ferrentino asked for help because she will be away July 12–24.
