The board approved OGAP (content-specific professional learning) training for elementary teachers and designated middle-school math teachers, using Title funds to pay a $327,200 package that includes intensive professional-development days and a coaching schedule across the year.
A staff member explained, “We are using title funding for that. This is professional development for all teachers, elementary teachers, K to 6, and then all math teachers in 7 and 8. It includes 4 intensive days of professional development and then 56 days of coaching.” The board also approved $1,365 for OGAP materials (math manipulatives) to support the work.
Board members framed OGAP as intensive content-specific learning rather than a simple curriculum purchase and approved the two items on the consent list.
