The New Haven Board of Education moved through routine business on Aug. 10, approving the minutes from its prior meeting and accepting the superintendent’s personnel report recognizing two retirees.
Superintendent Doctor Negron highlighted retirees Larry Oliver, a building manager who retired July 16 after 25 years, and Patricia Acetto, a kindergarten paraeducator at Ross Woodrow Magnet School retiring Aug. 20 after 30 years. Mister Wilcox moved to approve the personnel report and the motion passed on recorded affirmation from board members.
The board’s finance and operations committee chair, Mister Wilcox, asked whether any items should be pulled for separate consideration and then moved to approve a consent package described on the agenda as two abstracts, 13 agreements, one amendment, five purchase orders, four contracts and four change orders. Board members voted to approve the package without separate discussion.
