Fernandina Beach commission sets final operating millage at 4.6849 mills for 2024–25

City Attorney Tammy Baugh read the Truth in Millage (TRIM) statement required under Florida law and announced the rolled-back rate and percentage change. "The rolled back rate is 4.5448 mills per $1,000 of assessed value," Baugh said, and she stated the percentage increase was "3.08%" and the proposed operating millage to be levied is "4.6849 per $1,000 of assessed value." The statement cited chapter 200.065(4)(d) of the Florida Statutes as the statutory basis for making that announcement public.
Finance staff presented the resolution adopting the final levy for operating expenses and recommended approval. Mayor Bee said there was no public comment on the millage and the commission moved directly to a vote. The clerk recorded the roll and Mayor Bee announced the millage rate passed 4–1.
The vote sets the city’s operating rate for ad valorem taxes for the coming fiscal year; the resolution and the TRIM statement provide the public notice required before final adoption. The resolution number and effective date were read into the record during the presentation (as read during the meeting).
