Board approves SEPPP and discusses handbooks, calendar and convention attendance

Sudan ISD approved the Special Education program (SEPPP) for 2026–27, reviewed progress on employee and campus handbooks and was briefed on the TASA/TASB convention and upcoming August meetings and board calendar.
The Sudan ISD Board approved the Special Education Parent/Procedure/Program (SEPPP) for the 2026–27 school year on July 13 after Superintendent Scott Harrell presented the program. Clay Carr moved to approve and Joe Ky Shultz seconded; the motion carried 6-0.
Separately, Mr. Harrell reported that the employee and campus handbooks and the student code of conduct are still in progress and that final action on those documents is scheduled for the August regular meeting. The superintendent also provided information on the 2026 TASA/TASB board convention in Houston and reminded members of August special and regular meeting dates; Richard Salazar presented the annual board calendar.
