The Sudan Independent School District Board opened fuel bids July 13 and approved a contract recommendation to purchase gasoline and diesel from West Texas Gas at a rate of "$.20 above rack price for both gasoline and diesel." President Richard Salazar read the bid aloud; Superintendent Scott Harrell recommended acceptance. The board approved the contract to begin Sept. 1, 2026, on a 6-0 vote after discussion.
The fuel bid was part of routine procurement for the 2026–27 school year. The motion to accept the West Texas Gas bid was made by Dustin Provence and seconded by Joe Ky Shultz. The district record shows the contract start date as Sept. 1, 2026; the board did not record competing bid amounts in the meeting minutes excerpt.
