Zoning Board adjoins pole-barn hearing after fire-safety concerns; reopens Aug. 10

Anthony Natale, representing Finger Lakes Construction, described plans for a pole barn with a covered porch and space for a future pool, saying the property owners need additional garage space. Code Enforcement Commissioner Joseph Grispino and MCFD volunteer Mike Brown told the board the proposed barn—sited with a front-yard setback of 2.3 feet and an 18.4-foot height—would be too close to the road and "would create serious challenges for firefighters should they need to access the area."
Following the exchange, Chairperson Vivian Mason moved to adjourn the Case #2008 hearing to Aug. 10, 2026, to allow the applicant to consider resizing the structure and for staff to review access implications; the motion carried unanimously.
