Village advances 93rd Street reconstruction with revised right-of-way plan
Summary
The Board approved a revised relocation order and right-of-way plat for 93rd Street reconstruction (63rd Ave to Cooper Road), including widening, curb and gutter, storm sewer, a north-side sidewalk, a compact roundabout at Cooper Road and state grant funding; right-of-way acquisitions anticipated in fall 2026 with construction in 2027.
Engineering staff presented a revised relocation order and right-of-way plat for reconstruction of 93rd Street from 63rd Avenue to Cooper Road and the Board approved Resolution No. 26-13 to acquire necessary property and easements.
Curt explained the project includes roadway widening with a paved shoulder, curb and gutter, storm sewer and stormwater-management facilities, a sidewalk on the north side, reconstruction of road base and pavement, a compact roundabout at Cooper Road with street lighting, an extension of sanitary sewer and relay of an existing water main. Staff identified an error on prior plats related to a PLE for Parcel 15 and a larger temporary limited easement needed for Parcel 20; the additional easements are necessary for driveway tie-ins and slope work. The right-of-way acquisitions are budgeted in the capital improvement plan; acquisitions are expected in fall 2026 and construction scheduled for 2027. A state Surface Transportation Program urban grant will fund part of the project.
A trustee moved and the board adopted the resolution to approve replacement relocation orders and the right-of-way plat.
