Administrator Matt Lower told the Mercer County Animal Control Committee on Feb. 25 that the shelter is currently housing six cats and three dogs and that staff recorded three bite cases since the previous meeting. He presented these figures as part of the committee's regular animal-control report.
"There are currently 6 cats and 3 dogs," Matt Lower said. He also reported there have been no euthanasias and three bite cases since the prior meeting. The figures were given as operational updates; the committee did not take further action on animal-control policy or staffing at this meeting.
The report was presented during a brief agenda slot at the start of the meeting, and no public commenters addressed the animal-control report. The committee did not request additional follow-up or direct staff to pursue new measures at this session.
