HENDRICKS COUNTY — The Board of Commissioners approved Resolution No. 2026‑25 to repeal and replace the county's prior purchasing practices and to delegate limited purchasing agent authority to department heads and elected officials for contracts up to $50,000.
Executive Director Todd McCormack said the change "essentially is giving Department Heads/Elected Officials the ability to enter into contracts for an amount not to exceed $50K" while maintaining County Attorney review and budget checks. Commissioner Bob Gentry asked whether the board was abdicating responsibility; McCormack and Commissioner Dawes said the delegation is intended to increase efficiency while keeping oversight. The resolution passed unanimously (vote 3‑0‑0).
