Council enters executive session on personnel and possible litigation; Chamber report and 'Capital for a Day' announced

The council entered executive session at 6:10 P.M. to discuss personnel (Idaho Code 74-206(1)(A)) and possible litigation (Idaho Code 74-206(1)(F)), reconvened and adjourned at 6:50 P.M. Earlier in the meeting the council heard a Chamber of Commerce report and Mayor Keller announced Governor Brad Little will proclaim Preston "Capital for a Day" on Oct. 29.
The Preston City Council voted to enter executive session at 6:10 P.M. to discuss personnel matters allowed under Idaho Code 74-206(1)(A) and possible litigation under Idaho Code 74-206(1)(F). The motion to enter executive session was moved by Councilmember Chris Larsen and seconded by Councilmember Brent Dodge; the meeting minutes record the council exiting executive session at 6:50 P.M. after a motion by Todd Thomas and seconded by Chris Larsen.
Earlier in the meeting, Stevie Emerson, president of the Preston Area Chamber of Commerce, delivered a brief report. Mayor Dan Keller acknowledged Emerson as the recipient of the Idaho’s Brightest Star award, which Governor Brad Little is scheduled to present at the Capital-for-a-Day session on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025. Councilmember Chris Larsen also announced that "tickets are on sale for the annual Festival of Lights Candlelight Dinner" scheduled for Nov. 8.
