Preston hosts 'Capital for a Day' with governor’s staff; mayor praises city operations

Mayor Dan Keller opened the Nov. 10 Preston City Council meeting by thanking city staff for hosting the Governor’s “Capital for a Day” event, which included senior elected officials and members of Governor Little’s office.
Keller said the city’s staff and local partners executed the event smoothly and singled out the high school orchestra and Worm Creek Opera House for strong performances. He also reported a post-event call from State Controller Brandon Woolf, who told Keller the event was “one of the best Capital for a Day events he’s attended.”
Councilmember Chris Larsen and Councilmember Todd Thomas both praised the turnout and noted the positive feedback from cabinet members who spoke directly with local leaders during the visit. The council did not take formal action on the report.
