The DeWitt County Land Use Committee on Sept. 8 recommended that the county board consider an Agreement for Professional Services with Chastain & Associates to provide construction observation for the Revere Road commercial solar project. Zoning Administrator Elizabeth Weikle presented the proposal and said the developer will pay the cost.
Chastain's written scope describes part‑time on‑site observation to verify compliance with the application packet, county ordinances and permit conditions, including monitoring siltation and erosion controls, access roads, solar structures and underground electrical lines. The proposal states, "We estimate the time and materials effort outlined above to cost approximately $107,000," and assumes about 20 hours per week for an estimated 28‑week construction period. The committee agreed to place the agreement on the full board agenda for action.
