Stevie Emerson, representing the Preston Area Chamber of Commerce, updated council on recent and upcoming chamber activities, including a recent lunch-and-learn (Oct. 16), a future lunch-and-learn set for Nov. 20, holiday service events and the chamber's annual banquet on Jan. 22, 2026. Emerson said the chamber is improving engagement and analytics and is coordinating service groups for seasonal events.
The mayor recognized Emerson as a recipient of an Idaho Department of Labor volunteer award (described in the meeting as an "Idaho Bridal Star Award"). Emerson responded she was surprised and appreciative. The chamber noted it will support event notification and said live-streaming of meetings is expected once the city's new website is launched.
Council members congratulated Emerson and thanked the chamber for outreach work that supports city events and communications.
