Architect Joseph Thompson updated the Planning Commission on a proposed three‑unit residential building at 668 Main Street and a related effort to coordinate utilities, fire access and pedestrian access through an existing easement. Thompson said the project received a zoning variance for nonconforming conditions and that the team submitted an addendum with easement language, photographs and a plan for a new crosswalk and stair connection to Main Street.
Commissioners pressed the applicant about easement maintenance, whether 660 Main Street should be included in the maintenance cost‑sharing language and how sewer, water and hydrant locations would be coordinated. Thompson said the easement document specifies maintenance contributions and that any heavy equipment work would obligate a restoring party to repave and repair damage. Christian Moore of CPL and other engineering consultants said the team will perform utility mark‑outs and report back before the November meeting. The commission held the public hearing open to allow the applicant to supply the requested engineering mark‑outs and revised plans.
