Dealer associations report legislative changes allowing gasoline transport and cloud recordkeeping

Representatives of dealer associations briefed the Board on recent legislative and administrative updates at the July 13, 2026 meeting.
Anne Gambardella of the Virginia Automobile Dealers Association (VADA) indicated she had nothing to report. Alvin Melendez of the Virginia Independent Auto Dealers Association (VIADA) reported recent legislation now permits dealers to transport gasoline and to travel to auto parts suppliers using dealer vehicles. Melendez also reported the VSA‑39 application has been updated and dealers are permitted to maintain records electronically in cloud‑based storage without obtaining prior Board approval.
Board members received the updates during the Association Updates portion of the meeting; no Board action was recorded on these items.
